Ocean Hospitality is a member of the Ocean Group which has interests in real estate, finance, securities trading and media.
Ocean Group is listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, while its 75 per cent unit Ocean Hospitality on the Hanoi Stock
Exchange.
Ocean Hospitality deputy chief executive officer Mini Surendran in an interview with Business Times said: “We would be interested
in a dual listing as we (Ocean Group and Ocean Hospitality) are already listed on the stock market in Vietnam. Our plans for Singapore are currently in the planning stage with high
dependence on the market and economy”.
But the group is planning to operate a hotel in Singapore.
“We are looking at one big five-star hotel in Singapore.
We are talking to two parties in Singapore now,” she said,
adding that it was for a purchase of an existing hotel in the
republic.
The group, which posted consolidated revenues of 314 billion
dong (RM47 mil)and a pre-tax profit of 108 billion dong (RM16 mil) in 2010, now operates a total of five hotels in Vietnam and has set a target to open 20 hotels by 2015.
Its hotels, which are four- and fivestar categories, have two brands - Sunrise and StarCity.
The group’s current portfolio of hotels includes the Sunrise Nha Trang Beach Hotel & Spa, Sunrise Hoi An, Starcity Saigon, StarCity Suoi Mo and StarCity Phuong Dong.
It has also confirmed three more openings by the last quarter of 2012. They are StarCity Westlake Hanoi, StarCity Airport Hotel and Starcity Condotel Nha Trang. The StarCity Lao Cai will be ready in 2013.
Apart from hotel operations, the group is also involved in the food and beverage industry.
